I’m a member of Master Lock’s Live Secure Safety Squad and have been compensated for my time in writing this post.
Do you make New Year’s Resolutions?
For the last several years, my “official” New Year’s Resolutions have taken the form of goal setting using One Word.
But even when I don’t actually write typical resolutions down, I know that in my mind I’m making the most typical of all New Year’s Resolutions – To Exercise More and Get Healthier!
The truth is I’m usually too embarrassed to even write “Exercise, Lose Weight & Get Healthier” down on a New Year’s Resolutions list because each year I gain more weight and exercise less and my heath deteriorates. Like so many people, in January I try to resolve to lose weight and I fail.
So… I’m going to cheat the system.
I’m starting off DECEMBER with a quiet resolution to start exercising. I’ve decided I have to join a gym again. I haven’t let myself pay a gym membership fee for years because I don’t want to spend the money and logic tells me I should be able to save time and money doing exercise videos at home.
But the fact has become very clear… I cannot get the motivation to do the exercise videos at home! I used to use some exercise videos years ago, but lately, I just feel too far gone… I’m too out of shape. I need to lose 20 lbs.
I need help. I need accountability. I need to make exercise a major priority in my life.
So I’m going to make that step and join a gym in December — not in January — so I can sneak up on my resolutions and get a head start.
I truly believe that the health and safety of my family and myself are top priorities, so I’m going to take this step to invest more time and even some money in my health.
Over the past year I’ve been part of Master Lock’s Live Secure Safety Squad and it’s reminded me of the importance in investing in the safety and protection of our loved ones and our belongings. I’m going to continue to practice the tips I’ve been learning about security and also improve the steps I’m taking to protect my health.
