I am so proud of myself. I have been eating broccoli, I mean a lot of broccoli with dinner. I found a way to fix it that is simply delicious, so it has helped me to really eat more vegetables.

Now that I have the veggies covered, I am on to trying to eat more fruit. The dietary guidelines suggest that half your plate should be filled with fruits and veggies and that for fruits you should eat at least 1 to 1 1/2 cups per day. So how can we do that? Here are 4 ways I am going to use to get more fruit into my diet.

FRUIT

Keeping snack packs available wherever you go

I love to keep single serving fruit cup® snacks with me wherever I go. For me, those give me that option to choose healthy fruit as an added extra to a lunch or snack that I am eating instead of choosing something like chips or other sugary snack options.

Del Monte® Diced Mango and Del Monte® Mango Pineapple Fruit Cup® Snacks are a rich source of vitamin C and contain no artificial flavors or high fructose corn syrup so you can feel good about enjoying mangos all-year round.

I love these new fruit cup® snacks! They are a healthy and convenient way to enjoy mangos any time of the year — whether it’s for breakfast, on-the-go, or as a lunchbox favorite. If you love mangoes and pineapple, then you will really enjoy these new fruit cup® snacks as much as I do. The tropical flavors will make your mouth water!

Since they are grown, in the world’s best tropical soils and picked and packed at the peak of ripeness, the fruit’s natural sweetness is enhanced. It’s so convenient now to enjoy mangos and pineapple all-year round.

Add Fruit to a Morning Smoothie

If you have a hard time getting your fruit in during your morning hours, the easiest way to do that is simply add some to a smoothie. This allows you to really get an extra fruit serving in your diet and have a boost of energy in the morning. Some of my favorites are Mango Orange and Banana Smoothies, Apple Banana and Peanut Butter Smoothies, and my absolute favorite is Mango Pineapple and Coconut Smoothie.

Drink your fruits

Juicing is another great way to get those fruit and veggie servings in. For me, it is SO much easier to drink my servings than to remind myself that I need to eat them with every single meal. Sometimes during the day, I take all my servings of fruits and veggies, juice them into a glass, and drink them down all at once.

Eating all forms of fruit throughout the day

If you keep fruit handy at home, you will eat it more often. For me, I keep grapes in the freezer, fruit cups in the pantry, chopped up strawberries, watermelon, and cantaloupe in the refrigerator, dried fruit bags and Del Monte® Fruit Cup® sncaks in my purse, and peaches and mangoes on the counter – each of these are always ready for me to grab as a quick and healthy snack.
